I figured someone would be busting my ***** about this. I had to go back 3 pages to find it. ha ha

I was out of town for a week for deer season so I havent had a chance to get it installed. Im still tossing around the idea of getting it welded.

I most certainly did. I got a 4 pointer.

I usually dont shoot anything that small but I saw my neigh pull up on it and miss and it ran to me and I just reacted. LOL
But I shot it out from under my neighbors scope. HA HA

I shouldnt say anything though. Our first season (shotgun) is about a week away so I dont want to jinx myself.

I don't live where there are farm raised deer. A 4 pointer is at least 1.5 years old which is the average life expectancy of a buck in New York state. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of trophy's shot each year but once they reach 3 years of age they are rarely even seen let alone shot.

If you ever hunted in the North east (not on a deer farm) then you would know that getting an opportunity at a buck isn't that easy so passing them up to shoot a bigger one might mean that you don't see another buck at all.

Now, your chances of getting larger buck are far greater if you hunt near crop farms. They have all the food needed to make a good buck, but again the big ones don't show their faces hardly at all.

oh and baiting them is illegal in NYS

 

I have tomorrow off and with any luck I may have a chance to install my AERO.
