Yeah, the intake should be fine. I'm tryin to remember if there is really a gasket at all..... Im thinkin the last i had one off (not all that long ago[:@]) the grid heater block was a soft material that sealed itself to the alum. intake. At this hour I might be full of it, but its really not a problem. If you discover it does leak, It certainly wont keep the truck from running.
I like helpin where I can when someone's interested. Much more satisfying than the mundane stupidity I get from the union operators (read: "I dont get paid to be a machanic") and stubborn old farmers I see at work....

Thats not my Baker, BTW, but I like that engine, its a hoss. the guy n the ground is my uncle, he's got a slightly smaller Nichols & Sheppard, but it hasnt been fired for a few years. I keep gettin on him about that...
