I don't think the clutch can handle any more than 610 Tq. I also heard they will be cut back to 325 HP for the manual trans for the same reason.
they can put in a clutch that can handle in excess of 550hp. my thinking is DC is wanting people to buy more automatics just the same way chevy detunes the d-maxie for sticks.

I think it's because the torque converter eats up the difference. It's my understanding that torque converters take away some of the power. I bet if you put identical trucks (with exception to the transmission) on a chassis dyno, the power numbers would be the about the same. THis is just my understanding of it, I am only about 95% sure that this is right.
