Apparently it idles your truck up to 1000 RPM until I think the engine reaches a certain temperature and then it idles back into the normal range.

I think I have that right ....

The manual high idle has to be enabled by the dealer with the scan tool. Same thing with the delayed power. The automatic high idle is already there but is controlled by the computer. It will go up and down as needed.

The manual high idle is activated by:

1 - Place the truck in park
2 - Press the cruise control on / off button (uhhhh, to the on position)
3 - Press the set button

At this point the RPM's will jump to 1000 - 1100.

You can then adjsut them up or down using the accel or decel buttons. It will not go below 1000 rpm's

The main use for it is with a PTO, but it also helps to spin the alternator up to a point that it's making a decent amount of juice and also to heat the truck up faster. Not sure how well it does the heat part, every morning I've had it plugged in the temp drops when the high idle is engaged. I've started to just leave it at normal idle.

There is no turbo timer on the '06's.

It goes up to 1500 rpm max at 100 RMP intervals. A good feature if you're stuck at a construction road block in the middle of summer in Phoenix or something like that and you want to keep the A/C crankin. Just touch the brake or hit the cruise control "off" button and it drops back to the normal RPM. I'm really diggin the power-off delay feature as I like to back into my parking spot, turn the truck off, roll up all the windows, put my Club on, all while listening to Stern .

My dealer enabled the Idle Up feature but, could not locate the Power off Delay.
Any details as to where exactly it found in the settings would be veryhelpful.

The DRL turn on function is located either under customer preferences/vehicle prepor in the TIPM module. Accessed through StarScan. The power off delay is also in the vehicle prep section.

I wonder if this isn't something that was added mid-year in preperation for the 07's and that only the later 06 models have the feature there to enable?
I was standing right next to the tech and could clearly see the screen when he was in the section to enable the Day Time Running Lights, PTO/High Idle, AutoDoor Lockswere the only otherfeatures there to enable. He enabled the PTO feature No Chargebut, could not locate the Power Off Delay.

After leaning about these great features that can be activated on my new 06 CTD, I made an appointment with the dealer and brought along some of the posts from this board. Anyway, the service manager said there are no such features and that they likely came with the Laramie package. What a dope. Are there any Dodge dealers in North West/ Central New Jersey that know how to activate these features? Or, is there a link to an official technical service bullitin that I can download and bring it to this guy?
Thanks.
