Default Best 3 upgrades for 2005 Turbo Diesel

My Boy just bought a 3500 2005 turbo diesel.

I'm looking at the:

Edge EJD3000AWAM Juice Module and Attitude Monitor
$899.10

&

AFE 75-10932 Pro Guard 7 Stage 2 Air Intake System
$460.00

Is this all I need to get around 100 horsepower out of this 5.9L motor?

thanks crew

an ATS intake manifold and you are in buisness.

also 100hp is going to be pushing the stock turbo, fuel system, and trans pretty good. the turbo and fuel system will handle it alright, but put much more than 75hp through the 48RE and youre looking at a new input shaft and clutches. the stock clutch of the G56 will hold 100 extra hp, but not very well.

January will be national Slug's upgrades his Cummins month. I am looking at the following:

AFE 75-10932 Pro Guard 7 Stage 2
Aero Turbine 4040XL
Edge Juice with Attitude (will stay between 1 - 3)

I am looking for that magic 75 rwhp addition. Am I missing anything? I intend on going with an ATS replacement for the 48RE if I grenade it.

Oh yeah that Edge Juice with Attitude looks SWEET. I think I will tell him to go with this. I think the manifold might be too much for him at this time. Plus, I'm installing everything. He can have the hard stuff done later. ha. Thanks guys!

the edge will get him 60 right off the bat with level #3... I've had the AFE & Edge setup and it's pretty good. with the PG7 filter though if he opens up the exhaust, tell him to be prepared for a dip in low end torque. the ATS manifold is an awesome addition, I have one and love it. the intake is a piece of cake to install & takes about 30 minutes (ATS).

from what you've said... if all that is installed, I recommend getting an aero turbine 4040 to replace the kitty & a 2nd muffler behind it. I have a magnaflow 30" straight thru & love it. sounds awesome, not too loud, no drone and flows nicely.

Just be sure to put gauges in first so you know what's going on.

I was told by preformance diesel shops around here that those gauges aren't all too accurate, ever since then I've been a little leery of them. Also, I didn't see anything on there for exhaust. If your upgrading the intake, you should upgrade the exhuast.

I am also thinking about the edge with attitude monitor. Do some shopping. You can do allot better than $899. I found 1 at extremediesel.com for $ for my 06'. Yours is the same price. Take that extra $180 and put it towards something else!!

Edge Products Juice w/ Attitude Monitor #EJD3000A-WAM

Our Price: (Discounted Item): $683.32

This is great info. I just told him to order the stuff, he's scared. LOL....
He's not really a car guy and just wait until he feels what just another 80-100HP feels like. haha. I'm going to watch him turn white because I'm taking him for the first spin once I instll everything. This is going to make my week! Yeah, I'll look around for better prices. Thanks again guys!

Does anyone know what stage 5 brings the boost to? How much can the stock turbo handle if the fuel system is upgraded?
