My wifes freind just got me a screamin deal on cummins jake brake. her freinds husband works for cummins and got me the entire brake kit for $830 plus tax. beats the hell out of $1398 plus tax from dodge.


Anyone instaled one yet at the house? I read directions and does not seem to hard ,I used to work on military diesels so i think i can handle it ,Hopefully no major pitfalls

It will be here this weekend i will get instaled as soon as i figure out the instructions.

 

they usualy go on very easy and the down tube is usualy pre drilled for a pyro.

the hardest part is the air pump and plumbing that thing in.

 

ive put one on my 97 in about 3 hours and the pluming is the hardest

 

Can she get the deal again? I would love one at that price.

 

I will find out ,i think he used his discount i dont know how many times he can do it . Dont want to abuse the freindship. ya know!!

And im not to worried about elbo fittment or vacume pluming,Its the wire splicing especialy on ecm thats got me freaked out if i f##k it up i will never live it down not to mention the trip to the dealer for new ecm!![]

I understand about the abusing the friendship thing. But if he can we gotta figure out how to do a secure exchange.

I wired my clutch switch kit into my ECM. No big deal, just observe some common sense electronic precautions. Disconnect the batteries, ground yourself before you handle the ECM plug. Check your location on the plug several times to ensure you are at the right spot. The ECM is built pretty tough, look where it is mounted. You'll be fine.

 

Yea we could do the instal on yours ,then i keep your truck and you have mine With you takin the payments of course!!, I will even throw in a jake brake or your time
