Default Oil / Fuel Leak

Has any one had problems with leaks on their CTD?
It is an 04 325hp with 32,000 miles on it.

I seem to have developed a fuel leak from somewhere on the front of the engine, it is dripping from a wiring bundle near the crankshaft. and the oil leak appears to be the return line from the turbo. I usually see a couple of drops on the driveway after shutdown.
Anyone else had this and got it resolved? I can't get to the dealer until sometime later this month and I'm hoping that I can get this fixed without much trouble.

Thanks, Paul

No body?

i guess that is a good thing. That means there is very little concern from the more knowledeable on the board.

Thanks.

Haven't had a good look at the 03 and up engines, so I couldn't tell ya on the fuel leak. and the turbo drain should be a fairly simple fix.

If I remeber right, the cp3 is mount towards the fornt of the engine, could have a loose line running to it. Hopefully drew will post up since he owns one

I spent a few minutes looking around but could not see any leak, just from under the truck at the crank

depending on how hot the weather is and how much of a load you had on the engine you would have some oil comeing off the crank case vent tube which dumps around the front side of the trans, drivers side.

the return line of the turbo is a flexable tubeing that I can see would have the tendency to crack and the only way to fix it would be to braise the hole, or replace the tube.

the fuel leak OTOH would be a low pressure line either to the CP3 or the return line from the CP3. if it was a leak from one of the injector lines off the rail or the rail supply line the engine bay would be showered with fuel.

hope that helps a little bit, I must have missed this thread somehow. .. sorry 'bout that.

I'll bet your dead on on the fuel leak as it seems to be sporadic, The oil is definitely on the pass side just below the turbo, I did not think to check for a cracked tube. I'm sure there is alot of vibration and harmonics on a diesel.

Thank for the insight.

Default RE: **updated** Oil / Fuel Leak

Took truck to the dealer today to check out the leaks I had,
The Star rep for the dealer said the fuel leak was normal!
The service tech said that he would talk to them again he said they have replaced parts for the same problem.
Maybe I'm just old school, but I think any fuel leak is a problem that should be corrected.
I'll keep this updated just in case anyone else has the same problem.
They did fix me up on the oil leak below the turbo, It was the return tube {good call Drew}, but then when they did the tranny clean and flush they didn't clean up the fluid off the frame rails, so I get to clean that in the morning.
