My Egts on my Buick turbo V6 on a 1/4 mile run 35 psi of boost read 1550 to 1600. 1550 is ideal. You can actually see the manifold, turbo and part of the downpipe glowcherry red at night at WOT (not water cooled). CTD no way there winning this one.

I have the stock air intake system on my 06' CTD. I'm looking at acheiving a little more power and MPG. I really don't want to loose any low end power. I wasthinking ofkeeping the stock airbox and adding a high flow AFE Progaurd 7 stock airfilter replacement and a tourqe tube or MPC-EP eliminator pipe that replaces the stock silencer vanesection of the air intake between the airbox and turbocharger inlet. I think this may improve mileage and performance a little. This option is less expensive than the Stage 1 or 2 AFE intakes. Has anyone done this? I don't want to waste the money if it makes no diffrence.

I'm sure it would make a difference, some have reported a 1~2 mpg gain when swapping out the intake setup for somethng conservative. The AFE stage 2 PG7 is not conservative and you should expect a mpg loss (my own experience). I'd say give it a shot and see how you like it.

BTW, just noticed your from Oregon City, Or... we were just up that way on vacation... brought back a couple of papers to read thru and noticed that the Portland metro area is going to be getting b5 bio at all the diesel stations... wish we were so lucky... I had the opportunity to fill up 1/2 a tank with b20 and my motor was definately running smoother.

Thanks Steve.... I think I'm going to go for it. I will only be out about $140 bucks to trythe conservative air intake upgrade. I filled up my truck last night and added my first trial of Drew's Brew. Looking foward to see if there is any positive change in my mpg. Not to sure about putting the bio fuelin my new truck yet. I usually only run that greasy crap fromMcDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy's....in my own intake system. It seems that my truck is eating healtheir than I.
