performance mods have started ... care to help ? ...

Ok don't laugh.... I new to diesels
tired of waiting on a Smarty I went ahead and order a TST. I want to eventually
get to around 500hp or little more.
I know there's tons of threads about this same subject but, I wouldn't doubt explaining it again would help me and lots of other newbies here.
Ok, so I've started with a programmer. I know I can only use so much of it's power do to everything still being stock.
my question : In what order would adding mods be recommended ? The tranny is obvious and probably the biggest expense. I'm talking more about bolt on items.... my thoughts.....
new turbo
new fuel system
new or rebuilt CP3
injectors
intercooler
exhaust manifold
are these the correct upgrades and is there a preferred order to do these upgrade in. I don't want to upgrade something and have it damage something else before I can upgrade that something else.
Secondly.... do you guys think it's uncool to purchase all these items over time and then take them to a shop for installation ? I know I could do it myself but, if there ended up being a tuning problem it would be nice to know it's in capable hands. Seems to me, labor costs can make a company money too.
It's not like I have 10K or more to drop at once which is the reason for buying the items over time. Shops are nonexistant where I live and I don't want to drive 2 hours everytime I want to add something.

Knock out the fuel system first, either a FASS or a second pusher. Behind the tranny, that's gonna be the next thing that needs to be upgraded to keep up with any duraton and pressure changes you make with that TST. You're gonna start running that fuel rail dry real quick otherwise.
Once you can support with the fuel, upgrade the injectors, then turbo and see where your EGT's are.
If the EGT's are still in check, don't worry too much about the intercooler or exhaust manifold. If the EGT's are routinely going too high, the make the change. Those mod's there should already be netting you over 500.
Nothing wrong with piecing it together, but it usually costs more in labor than just doing it all at once. Most of that stuff, you'll easily be able to do yourself. The only thing I wouldn't be comfortable with is the fuel system, everything else is fairly straight forward.

Stock, it's not gonna be able to supply enough fuel.
If you are looking at making the kind of power you are talking about, you're talking about a setup that needs to push at least 120 - 150 gph.
Here is a link to the FASS systems. This seems to be the route most folks are going. Can't say I know from experience as mine is staying well within normal constraints, but this is setup you are seeing on the bigger HP trucks.

I'll chime in, but keep in mind I don't know as much as most guy's here.
I think I'd do things step by step and take notice of the changes as you go along. If you werer to bolt all of those things on all at once and you had a problem, I think it would be difficult as to which mod was causing the problem. Also, after bolting one thing on, you may decide that you don't need another mod or perhaps the mod that you were thinking about buying would be too small / large whatever for the way your truck is now acting.
You know what I mean ??
