Cold Enough?
Aright, for you guys elsewhere, you'll probably think it's warm, but we got down to 24 last night here in sunny central California. That dang grid heater kept clicking on and off for quite a while when I took the truck out late at night - had half a mind to plug the truck in overnight. Steve0 - you must've felt it up your way too - the forecast had you guys pretty cold too...
Anybody out there in the snow country use a baffle or blanket to keep the cold air from flowing into the compartment? I've been wondering if I should block off some of the radiator when I go up to Tahoe where the high is barely making freezing...

24 was the high here today with 5 inches of snow yesterday. Haven't tried the blanket thing yet. You could also just cut some cardboard and stick it in behind the grille. easy to take out if it gets too warm.
whats the deal with this blanket and cardboard deal? its pretty cold here in CT too...high of 40 today and gets down below freezing over night. i plug it in cuz i leave for work at 2am and i dont wanna run out there 20 mins before to start it so i have her plugged in and i fire it up give it 2-3 mins and then roll. btw is that ok to do?
the blanket is to help keep the engine warm, the cardboard restricts the air flow over the radiator. the cardboard will actualy hurt more than help. the blanket is good for when it gets REALY cold.
your hooking up the block heater and the 2-3 min warm-up is just fine.

thanks drew. so you put the blanket on over night and obviously take it off before you start it in the am or whenever? is this something that should be done or its just another option?
