Subwoofers in 06
I was kinda wanting to put some subwoofers under the rear seat, because the factory speakers sounds like crap... And i don't need that extra storage under there because i have a tool box. Has anyone else found abox or built one that worked. Was looking to put some 10's at least... but 8's would be fine...
Thanks
Thanks
personally I would go with 10's but box size that would fit under the rear seat or behind it really depends on what subs you are looking at. Different subwoofers have different power ratings and need more airspace in a box to make it perform to its best. Personally I would go to a car audio specialist in your area and talk to them about different subs and what kind of sound you are going for. I prefer 12's in a ported box gives nice deep lows for rap but also stays nice and tight for my ACDC and Guns n Roses tracks.but 10's in a ported box would do just as well. If you don't have enoughroom for a ported box sealed will be just fine it just won't hit thelows as well asported. but i agree almost all OEM speakers are junk.As for brands my personal favorites for subs are JL Audio Resonant engineering and rockford fosgate. I also like RF and Jl for amps but great subwoofer amps look into JBL crown amps.
Go with the MTX T-Form! The have 2 10" woofers with or without the amp and it fits under the rear seat perfect. If you need more info go to www.crutchfield.comThey will answer all of your questions.
probox makes two different boxes for the 06, one speaker or dual,, the dual of course goes all the way across. JL audio makes a very nice application that fits flush with the storage well,,, a little more expensive though. If ur lookin at buying amp, box, and speaker it can cost u. I already have a 600watt kenwood amp, and I'm having a probox single with a 12" kicker comp installed soon. The box with speaker and amp installed is between 3 and 400.
go with elemental design 8'...if u use a 10' woof the amount of air that it needs to sound good or sound its best would be insufficient. an 8 is small but doesnt require that much air. trust me, u can make an 8 sound better than any 10 in tight small spaces. make sure to check for rms and not max watts...rms would be the constant u could push the sub and not the peack amount for jus a min or less. oh and get the box build and dont buy the box already made. coustom boxs(depending where u take it) can be made tighter and more air sealed.
1)dont go cheap on the 8', u get wat u pay for
2) go with a memphis amp, small and really good
3) custom built box would work better
4) have fun.

hit ebay up for enclosures.
you can get a decent enclosure with a decent woofer for under $100.
One of the venders has a dual 10 or 12 box with Sony subs for $140.
Ive seen the probox, JL and MTX boxes and they are all nice but the Probox by far is the nicest. The MTX is cheap looking and the material is as sturdy as the Probox.
again the MTX setup with speakers can be found on ebay for much cheaper than Cruchfield.

hey, I traded my 03 quad cab in for a mega cab and took out a JL audio stealthbox 10" sub. It's looking for a new home. message me if you are interested.
