I had XM, and then the day that Howard Stern announced his move to Sirius, I switched over the next day. I love Sirius. Definitely better content than XM. If you like classic rock, 80's. Stern, CNN, then Sirius is the way to go. Plus they start NASCAR sometime 2morrow I believe. I am not a sports guy but they have NFL, NHL,NBA, and a bunch of others.

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

Good luck with your ride.

I have had xm for a couple of years and sirrus for about a month. I hardly ever listen to sirrus. Sirrus has a couple of good music channels that I like, but I started listening to a couple of personalities on xm and I basically only listen to one channel over there. I have tried stern, but don't care for him. I would much rather listen to Opie and Anthony and would even take Ron and Fez over O&A.

My wife has a factory xm unit and I have a factory dodge unit. They both suck. The GM unit has a better display then the Dodge unit, but either way I would recommend an add on unit that will tell you the channel, artist, and song all in one display.

I've had Sirius in my rigs for a couple of years and have NO PLANS on either changing to XM or doing much listening to off-air radio.

I like the channel (stream) lineup and the general content better.

The only recommendation I can make in regards to satellite radio is to get a stereo deck that has the satellite tuner onboard, or is a separate accessory receiver that you locate elsewhere in the vehicle. I currently have the Sportster Replay and I'm sort of required right now to use the FM modulator setup. I really don't like it and the sound is no where near the quality that Satellite Radio is capable of giving. Plus, when you go to a major city, you often times have to change the FM frequency you are using to one that is not being used in whatever city you may be in. Sort of a pain in the **** having to do that AND avoid the other idiots in traffic.

I plan to change out my deck in the next few months to one that has it onboard and give my current setup to my wifeoid for her car, at least until we buy a new vehicle that is.

I have XM in all of my cars, I mainly bought it to listen to NASCAR when I am on the road. Now Sirius gets NASCAR for 2007 so I am out of luck there. Over all though I enjoy the programming of XM. Like ljpierce_ely said when traveling in the big city the radio stations are two close together and interferes with the signal the satellite radio sends to your car antenna and often times you have to switch the frequency to try and clear it up. Sometimes with mine I cant find a clear channel and just have to put up with the static until I get out of town. I would definitely recommend a deck that was satellite ready of buy the FM modulator that plugs in from the aftermarket satellite radio to your factory radio. It takes more time to install, compared to the satellite radios with the built in FM modulators but you will be happier with the results. Which ever one you decide I think you will be happy, they both cost the same per month and the equipment is about the same so just look over the programming for both and figure out which one suits your taste better. I will listen to nothing but satellite radio, it is nice on long drives to listen to the same channel and not have to fuss with finding new radio stations like you do with FM. That’s just my 2 cents. Have a great day. Jeff

I've had both XM and SIRRIUS, and although I like the trance, house, techno and similar music selection on SIRRIUS better, I do know that my XM was less likely to lose the signal on narrow mountain roads where the trees blocked it - the SIRRIUS seems much more susceptible to signal loss and all my satellite radios have been the type where that was part of the radio (versus a supplemental unit).

I've got both and the music content is broader on XM so that's what I listen to all the time. Sirius came with the truck but it wont ever be renewed.
