Default Aero Turbine 4040 Review

Finally got my Aero in on Friday from Vercious. Must say that I was more than pleased with them, ordered on Tue and at my door Fri around noon. My original plan was to put the 4040 in place of my original muffler and leave the cat on. Got down to the shop and after looking really close at that 60lbs of junk figured what the hell. Can always go back if I dont like the results. Cutjust before thecat and just aft of the muffler. Welded in the 4040 where the cat was and put and new piece of 4" pipe to conect to the tailpipe. Measured out and cut where I wanted the new Aero 4"-5" tip and welded it in. Cranked up and first thought was MY GOD THATS LOUD!! Anyway, the sound is awsome, very deep, loud when on the petal but up at cruise still hear nothing but turbo. I will say that the drone people talk about is there but only at low speeds before upshifts and not to unbearable. On the highway running at speed not much louder than stock. I will agree with Drew it feels like a little low endwas lost, how with a turbo providing induction I have no idea?? What I really notice the most is when you get above about 1600 rpm A HELLEVA lot more pull. Overall, I am very pleased. If a little noise doesn;t get on your nervs, you will be vey pleased with the power and the fact that you lost about 60 lbs of EPA junk. If so go with a 4040xl or leave the cat on. Just my 2 cents. Never know to ya try!!

I've got the 4040xl, in place of the muffler, minus the cat. At 70mph, I average 18mph. If I can keep it at 60mph I can get as high as 21mpg.

save your money dude... 5" is way too big for your setup. unless your doing 100 hp injectors & dual turbo setup, you wont be happy... Ask bekim how he liked his... besides, isnt your exhaust already done?

Its kind of done. I just cut the muffler out and added a section of pipe and the AERO.

But it looks like I'll be going to just the AERO minus cat soon.

I think (from my research) you should be happier with the 4" no cat & the aero...
