Default Removing dash and head unit

Thanks to BlkRam69 I have a new 6 disc CD head unit for my 06 CTD. Can anyone tell me how to properly remove the dash and stereo, or point me in the right direction? I don't want to risk tearing up my dash not knowing what to do.

Do these screws have to be removed first? I managed to pry away the top half of the console, but the bottom half where the air controls are firmly planted. I can't seem to find where these screws are. At the very bottom there is a 4x4 inch square hole underneath, i reached my fingers up a good 3 inches, couldnt feel anything... Does anything else need to be removed in order to remove the console framing?

I just did this to mine. Start with removing the rubber cup holder, then remove the screws in the plastic cup holder. From there, you just remove all the plastic and screws untill you reach the two screws that hold the console in. Then you can pop the console framing off to get to the stereo.

I was afraid of that. So yeah, I removed the two screws under the cup holders, but it would come out. What else is holding that in? It seems stuck near the 4wd shifter.

Now you have to pull the boot/**** off the 4wd shifter and take those screws out. After that....more screws and one more piece of plastic untill you can get to the two screws that hold on the console.

Thanks for all your help. I got everything removed and put back together. Now that I know how it's assembled I could have done it in 15 minutes :/
