Default Banks High-Ram Intake

Can anyone comment on this? I'm trying to find the next mod for my truck. $325 for a single piece of steel.. Is it worth it?

There are quite a few aftermaket intake manifolds out there right now, almost every one that has installed them has a positive comment, some "look" better than others, as to different performance ratings ???????????
Good luck and keep us posted.

You're gonna pay premium price for Banks stuff.

Shop around, you'll find better prices.

word has it the banks intake looses hp & tq... not sure if that is running it by itself or with the inner cooler. I have the ATS and have nothing but good things to say about it... look at their dyno sheet... my butt dyno agree's with it...

Hey Steve....where did you purchase your ATS Intake? Really feel that it made a difference huh? Did you buy the ATS Exhaust manifold too? On their site it says they recommend their exhaust manifold.. Just wanting some input....I think I've found my next mod for the ol' Cummins!!

I got it from www.Dieselnutmotorsports.comI didnt get the exhaust manifold, I'm not sure it's really needed for my setup. That may change however in the future. Yeah it did make a difference... read this...

Thanks for the info. Any updates on possibly mileage gains? I'm thinking I'm probably going to pick one up pretty soon....I really like the fact you can hook up your boost gauge with the pre-tapped shrouded holes in the backside. The instructions I got with my gauges were wrong for my truck and so the boost gauge doesnt work all the time.

Getting the rest of my student loans in next week ($2000) and I have nothing to spend it on So I think the ol' truck is getting an upgrade with some new wheels/tires and probably this ATS intake. The more I read up on it...the more I'm digging it!

Thanks Steve!

well, the only thing I can say on mileage is it did help a little... back in Nov I did a mileage run with the ats in place & the aero on there and managed 18.7 mpg on an all hiway run over 170 miles... that was the best mileage my truck has ever got with the current wheels & tires on there. Over the christmas hliday I put the stock airbox back on and ran the same test... only got 16.8 mpg on that run, same driving style but I think I may have been going a little faster on that run. not sure what you can read out of it but thats all I can add at this point.

for 2k, you could look into tranny & torque converter upgrades... doing that would allow you to get the most out of your setup (assuming you have an AT)
