Here is the charger that he reccomended for me to use. I don't know where he mounted his, or where I'm going to be mounting mine. I guess I won't know until I have it.

Keeps 12 volt batteries charged. Fully automatic. Turns on and off as needed. Allows safe charging of RV, deep-cycle or most batteries that may have a long storage period. “On-Board” feature allows mounting of charger next to battery on collectibles, street rods and other infrequently used vehicles. Hardware and mounting brackets are included.

• 1.5 amp trickle charge rate – charges in 2 to 12 hours.

• LED lights – indicate Power On and Charged.

• Reverse-hookup protection.

• Molded plastic case.

• Short leads for safety – won’t get tangled in moving engine parts.

• CSA Certified: Model SF-1-12S

DieselDemon, what kind of charger are you using and where did you mount it on your truck?
I use a charger like the one Mayfair has a link to. Only mine is a 3 amp charger. They come with rugged brackets and sit in the battery tray. Then you set tha battery back in and the weight of the battery is sitting on top of the charger mounting bracket. I have it on the passenger side. Been there almost 12 years. No problems.

Good luck with your ride.

Hey Mayfair
You should look around to see if you can find a plug box like they use on fire trucks. I spent 4 yrs in fire fighting and we had chargers on the fire trucks (lots of light requries constant charging) that had a plug box on the side of the cab that spit out the plug when you started the engine. it was a great thing to have and saved getting to the call with 50 foot of extention cord + ceiling real draging behind you![:@] BTW i am kind of a newbie that is looking for a CTD. Perhaps have found what I am looking for but trying to find service records before I buy.

I wired my cargo trailer up similarly so I could run 110v for lights and outlets inside.

I had the same problem findingthe box cover I wanted but I finally found a horizontal one w/ the recessed plug at an RV/Camper store. Try there.

I think mine cost $10 - $15 for the cover and plug.

I like to have a super ejector for my trailer, I plug in the charger forbatteries for my inverter.

So far I can't find it any where, so I might have to see if my brother-n-law the fire chief can get me one

Yeah, that IS pretty cool Norm, but at 200 smacks I think I'm gonna try a different / less expensive route first.

Oh yeah .... that truck that you have inked seems kinda high for that many miles. Keep looking.

What do you think it would be worth?

I'm not saying it's not worth 200 smacks, I'm saying that I don't have 200 smacks to spend on a cord spitter-outter.
