Hey Mayfair, you wired up yet?

RE: Hey Mayfair, you wired up yet?
No, I haven't done it yet. I HAVE gotten some of the parts though. That hardest part to get was the plug part. It's called a " Flanged Inlet " and I finally got it at Denny's electric. Just in case anyone else is looking for one, here is the part number :
AH5278C and it is a Cooper product
I'm not really happy with thecover that I have though. I was hopeing to be able to mount the box sideways, but the cover that I have opens vertically. I'm still looking.
As far as actually DOING the job, yeah, it's gonna happen, but I'm afraid that unless I can find a garage to do it in it aint gonna happen any time soon. My hinely gets to cold laying on that COOOOOOOLD concrete right now.
Here are some pics ....

RE: Hey Mayfair, you wired up yet?
I'm going to wire up a rear mounted heater box similar to the one Demon made for his truck.
Since I back into my driveway, it would be a lot easier to just run a cord to the back of my truck rather than to run it all the way up to the front the way I have it now. Plus, I honestly don't like the look of the cord sticking out all of the time on the front bumper. With this set-up, I'll have a box mounted on the rear of the truck on the reciever with an outlet inside to plug the heater in.
Demon has also talked me into ( that SOB .... lol ) wireing in a battery charger so that while my heater is heating my batteries are also charging.
Demon .... post those pics again !!!

Cool beans Mayfair.....I don't blame ya about waiting for warmer weather. Take your time. I was just checking your progress, my young Jedi.
Just make sure that cover has a strong enough spring to keep the door closed if you don't find a more suitable cover. As long as it has a decent gasket on the inside, you can always put a baby latch or haps on it. Keep looking. I'll look as well.
And mayfair..........I love your new title.....LOL.LMAO.LOL.LMAO.LOL

Yeah, I'm not rushing it.
My charging pole is working just fine for now. I AM looking forward to doing the mod though. I hear ya about the cover. The cover that I got closes tight, but I'm afraid to mount it sideways because over time you KNOW the hinges are going to loosen up from having the weight of the door on them. I saw one over the weekend that looked OK, but I don't know if the inlet will fit so I'm going back this weekend with the inlet to try before I buy.
