Well, it all started again yesterday. Tha Barrett Jackson Auto Auction is once again in full swing. I can't believe it starts on a TUESDAY now. I went out there 3 or 4 years ago when it started on I think it was a Thursday. Good times for sure, but the prices that they get for those cars is INSANE !!! It wraps me up every time. I'll be in front of my TV every night this week from 7-midnight and all day on Saturday. I can't get enough of it.

I was watching the best of barrett jackson yesterday on my day off for R.E.Lee day and they were showing the GM bus of the future that started out at 650,000 and within 2 min was well past 2.5mil. final bid was 4 mill but they couldnt figure out who made the final bid since the screen said 4.2 and the guy was saying 4.1 but the final bit was 4.0. . .rather interesting when dealing with that much money.

To watch it on TV is one thing, but to actually BE THERE is a whole other animal. It is ELECTRIC !! I can't believe that there are THAT many people with THAT much cash to waste on a car. It blows me away !!

hey when u tlak about people with that much money there have been actual polls regarding what they actualy do.

people who hold more then 500,000 insavings and stocks make up 5% of the world true millionairs are 1% of the worlds population. 60% of all those people enjoy almost the same things.

95% of all the rich people enjoyCARS so it's not a wonder at all to beleive that many people are there bidding on cars

 

That's what REALLY floors me the most !!

If you have a car that you'd like to sell at Barrett Jackson. it'll cost you $500.00AND 8% of the total sale for the priveledge of having your car sold there.

Ok ... let's say you swallow that pill. here's the doozie ....

In order to BUY a car at Barrett Jackson, you have to pay I think it's $300.00 JUST to be allowed to be a bidder. You also have to prove that you have access to at least $500,000.00.

you STILL haven't bought anything though ...

If you DO wind up being the highest bidder,you not only pay for the car, but you alsopay 10% of the total sale ALSO toBarrett Jackson.

Bottom line, Barrett Jackson makes at LEAST 18% on EVERY car auctioned off not including the other fee's associated as well as spectators who pay I think it's $35.00 a day to watch the auction from the bleachers ALLLLLL the way in the back.

Oh yeah .... don't forget the vendors ....

 

I'm not surprised at all to hear that rich people enjoy cars, what I want to know is HOW they got so rich in the first place, and how many rich people like that are there in the good ole USA. It's INSANE !!!

80% or more have their money inherited, born intoor given to them

50% of the remaning 20% are from legal suits, lottery and the such

35% of the remaining 20% get lucky some way, Stock market, Right time and place.

5% of the 20% Find it, Geologist, Excavating, Acrceologist(SP*)

and the last 10% of the 20% work a 8-5 job and earn it the old fashion way.

Do you think most of the people bidding there are actually car dealers? I also cannot believe a car that cost 2-3K in the mid to late 60's can be worth 100,000 and up and up and up.

Its just crazy man.

It also makes me appreciate I got my 06 CTD for 31K and change.

 

I doubt it. They couldn't possibly sell it for more than THEY paid for it.Top dollar indeed !!!

Did you see it last night ?? They auctioned off a 60 Caddy that Pam Anderson gave to Kid Rock as an engagement gift. It was a SWEET ride !! It sold for I think it was $105,000.00.

SICK isn't it ??
