Default Favorite Power Chip?

Hi all,
I'm new to the site and I'm hoping to gather some information for my father-in-law. He has a 2001 dodge 3500. He's asking me which power chips are most popular with his truck. He's used an edge module on his last truck (I don't remember which one) and liked it, but wasn't sure whether its still the best choice for his truck. These were the power chips I found mentioned here.

Any guidance appreciated and please vote for your favorite!

i think any of them will work just fine. the real question is what does he want to do with his truck. i have the superchips becuase i get a 100 hp and can correct my speedo for my large tires. it's serving me well for what i want and need for now.

I think his goals are more power for when he's towing his 5th wheel. I'll send him an email and ask him that question though.

Superchips, hyperpaq, and the TST CR will not work on his truck. he has a VP44 injector pump with jerk style injectors.

I clicked on the TST CR before I read your post, so I'm going to have to change mine to the Smarty CATCHer. that thing will give the truck the baddest horses it will ever see

He finally got me back to me on the question. His comments: to answer your question, yes, that is my main goal and objective. MORE horsepower AND torque!!!!!!!!!!!! the more the better, at the most economical, and best performance options!.

I'm going to send him some info on the Smarty CATCHer and see if that meets his needs and I'll tell him the superchips, hyperpaq and tst cr won't work.

Hi,
I was looking up the Edge Comp again b/c it won the poll in terms of votes. It looks like it will work with his Dodge (I see his Dodge listed in the price list on this page at least)

http://www.autoanything.com/performa...0A1930297.aspx

It should in his truck, right?

Do you guys have a preferred vendor for buying these things?

I don't intend to jack this thread, but it is on the same subject. Actually looking for Drew's input more or less since he is the CTD god. I notice alot of our members use alot fo different chips and mods. I have been dreaming of my CTD forever, someday I will have it, but my dream includes Gale Banks gear and mods. I notice nobody here uses it? Is it the cost or is there somethign I don't know about Banks gear and the CTD's?

Banks has good hardware, but they are over priced for what you get. You can get better for less.

As for their electronics........there are DEFINITELY better products out. Again, for less money too.

Banks has to pay for all that advertising somehow.....[:-]
