I love how they tell about the more mileage you can get, when everyone on the forum that put on bigger mufflers lost fuel mileage by one or two.

Will it make me lose mpg? I dont pull anything. I got the ctd mega cab because of the interior space and the durability of the diesel. We travel on vacation (family of 5)once a month about 1200 miles round trip. Would stacks benefit or are they just an eye candy thing?

If it's fuel economy you are looking for, you could have spent alot less and gotten better economy. Personally I dont think youd loose enough to worry about it, if you like them I get them. Just my opinion.

I didnt buy the truck for its fuel enonomy. I bought it for its mega cab (big family) and the duribility of the diesel. Why spend 35k for the same truck with a hemi that will last 150k-200k miles, when I can spend an extra 5k and get the same truck with a diesel that would last 400k. But i dont want to loose its fuel economy just because the looks of the stacks. If they are a benefit then I will more than likely have them. If they lose 1 mpg economy than thats 37 miles to the tank I would lose. Makes no sense to have them if they degrade the truck in anyway. See what Im saying?

I have stacks on my 97 3500 CTD. They are 5", turn outs off a kenworth. I did a whole 5" exhaust and gained about 1.6 mpg. My main reason for doin them is they look awsome and sound even better. Loud as hell outside, nice and mellow on the inside. Its easy to hear and talk over the exhaust, now the scream of the turbo is a diff. story. There is a guy on e-bay who sells some very good stacks for a good price. chromeroom.com is hise e-bay store/ website. He has all kinds of styles and sizes along with pics of stacks on a dodge truck.
