Yeah, I got a boat load of idiots that can't follow simple instructions that have been making my week a royal pain in the butt. I'm so far behind on stuff that actually pertains to my AO, it's not even funny.

Small update on my Attitude mount...

I went to put the pillar mount on and found that I didn't really like it. It didn't match up to the factory pillar and I'm too friggin lazy to paint it. Sooooo, if anybody has an Attitude and wants a pillar mount, gimme a holler. NO COST to you except the shipping.

So what I did do was mount it on the steering column. Now the picture looks like it nearly covers the fuel gauge, but actually as I sit it only covers 1/2 of it. I can live with that. Actually I like it because I stop staring at the damn fuel gauge.

Otherwise, I really like it here. It gives me a quick look at everything.

Cumminalong,

I'm really interested in the Egde/attitude package but don't want to drop the $$$ untill I've heard a little more about it. If there is already a post on this, I apoligize, but could you give some info on how it's working out for you. I was scared to install it because of taping the manifold but you eased my mind. I'm looking for some hot rod fun every now and then but the increase in mileage and the gauges is the selling point.

Ummm...Diesel, my new love.

moparmike,

You can ask Drew, I was one of the most nervous people on the planet about drilling my manifold. Using the vacuum and the magnet I had absolutely no problem.

As for the install.....Stupid Simple! The only part that was kind of a pain was hooking up the key position connector for the turbo timer (which is friggin awesome, by the way). The easiest thing to do is lay on your back with your feet up by the headrest of the driver seat (get your mind outta the gutter Mayfair) and weasel your self in from there.

Other than that, it was just plug and play simple.

Nooooooooow, as for my impressions of it. I have it setup like this:
Level 1 is on level 2 for responsiveness.
Level 2 is on 3
Level 3 is on 4
Level 4 is on 5
Level 5 is on 5.

Level 1 showed improvement is throttle response and turbo pressure easily hits 40 psi if you're on it.
Level 2, I really haven't played with
Level 3 gives a real nice kick in the pants and pushed the turbo up to 40 psi real quick.
Level 4 & 5 I haven't messed with. Not gonna, UNTIL<---like that, UNTIL I at least upgrade the TC.

I still have not see over 900* on the EGT going up to level 3.

Smoke output has been pretty low. I did put level 3 on setting 5, just to play and it had a little bit of smoke rolling. Nothing big, but definitely noticeable.

The features it has is awesome. You have like 9 or 10 different parameters that you can set up to monitor. YOu can view any 4 at any given time. Lots of visibility of what your engine and tranny are doing.

Turbo timer is sweet. People keep asking whats wrong with my truck when I get out, hit the alarm, have keys in hand and the truck is still running. One thing I did with this....set your turbo timer to run off of time, rather than EGT. EGT would work good for post-turbo probes, but for pre-turbo probes, the only thing you are seeing is the exhaust gas, not the heat soaking of the turbo. I set mine up to run for 2 minutes after I turn it off.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the ease of installation, features and adjustability of this thing. I like it.

Pretty funny. I just got my attitude and box in this last weekend. I will say I really appreciate the tips on the drill and tap. Looking at your pics, I installed my egt probe a little further aft than you did by just a inch or so. I found that if I put my drill against the top of the firewall and got my bubble on the drill prefect it was really steady and a bit easier for me. I did the exact same on the conector for the turbo timer. I felt like a **** star lol.Anyway, I agree for the money it has alot of features, displays, and power. I towed my horse trailer on level 2 and I can for sure tell a big differance. Also I just couldnt resist and had to see what level 4 and 5 would do just 1 time. I just got up to about 45 and hit the floor. Boost went to 38 and egt was up to about 1250. Felt like I stepped of in a vet for a second. Overall I am pretty pleased. Easy install and pleanty of power.

I ordered mine from thoroughbred diesel. and the attitude mount I really like. It only comes up to the handle and fits over the stock pillar. The paint matched my light grey really well. It was kinda a pain to get installed but once you get the angle of the dangle just right to pick up the lower screw it was ok. All in all I think for the whole thing I paid around 700 bucks.

That's the same thing I did. I got it into a spot where I could keep it perfectly strait up and down and rested the drill against the edge of the front cowl. The other thing I was considering when I put it there, was that when I was drilling and tapping, if any shavings did fall I, they would fall right onto that horizontal spot on the manifold and I could pic them up real easy. Didn't have any in there, but I was more comfortable knowing that I could fish them out easy if I needed to.

I was considering putting farther back, so that I was getting 4 cyls worth of temp, but decided that it wouldn't be worth the hassle and most likely wouldn't show much of a difference. I was also considering putting it just above the turbo flange for the #5 & #6 cyl's, but that was the spot I was least comfortable in.

I'm happy with it.

Cumminalong did you step up a bit at a time from 1/8 to 21/64 to keep the cuttings to a minimum or just the 2 sizes? Been waiting to do this for a while, hope to get it done tomorrow, weather permitting.
