I'm sure my truck (2002) is coming up due on brake pads, other than not getting cheapies at the discount parts stores, does anyone have any experience or recomendations on brands or sources? The pads from Geno's any good?

 

the mopar ones sound like that are close to the stockers. . .the Hawks I dont know about.

 

I went with the Bendix brand on my 2000 and 04 and got good service. Believe it or not 90k on my 04. and they still looked pretty good, I did not even turn the rotors and it stops perfect.

 

do you do much towing? if you do the raybestos super duty pads are awesome. put mine on six months ago and tow a 10,000lb trailer pretty regularly. no soft pad and no squeek like you get from a lot of semi- metallics. lots of brake dust though[:'(]

 

If Im in my CTD its towing a 27ft gooseneck.I use it like a mule. Ive had good luck with the Bendix, no squeeks but like you , plenty of dust.

 

I have EBC's "Green Stuff-7000" on mine. Stops great but a lot of brake dust.

 

Bendix pads are the best on the market. If you're replacing rotors too, go to Http://www.R1Concepts.com

 

I am also a big EBC fan. Been using them on my motorcycles for years. They don't last long, are a bit dirty (greens) but the stopping power is great.
