Default Tire size--will it fit?

Have a 04 2500 quad cab 4x4. I want to put BF Goodrich A/T KO 315/70 x 17 = 34.5 on it. Local 4x4 shop that does hundreds of mods/lifts/etc. says they will fit without leveling kit. What does fellow CTD owners have on their rigs and words of wisdom? Is it too much?

it'll fit, but you might have a rubbing issue at lock. . .a 2" leveling kit will cure that.

Ok,
I have a couple of questions. So please bear with me as I'm still learning about tires. Is it ok for the 315 tire to fit the stock aluminum rim like it is in the tire above? I thought the Rim was 8 inches and it looks like they recommend 8.5 to 10.
Why is the 315 rated as a D tire instead of E, it looks like it has the same 3195 # rateing though at a different pressure.

LT315/70R17/D 121R BSW 54142 8.5 - 10 12 on 8.5 34.5 17 601 3195@50

I had that size a while back, and it did scrub. I went down to a 305, and it fits just fine. The Nittos come in a E load for that size. And they last over 20K miles, and a better price. Justkeep them pump up tight.I have had 2 sets of them, my drive out price was just over $800. Not bad for E load range tires.

2001 Dodge Ram 3/4ton 4x4 with 4.5" Skyjacker lift.
I have run 325x65x18 Mickeys with American Racing Mojave 18x9.5 and 4.5" backspacing with no rub.
I now run 315x75x16 Nitto Dune Grapplers on stock rims with slight rub at full lock.

Thanks
