Default welp. . .I did it again

I was comeing home from work earlier on and on one of the service roads I take after getting off the interstate there was this lawn service truck(Isuzu NPR's) that was stuck in the median where they tried to pull a U-turn. the body had cought itself on a ridge and thus the wheels were there just a hangin in the drainage ditch. there was a guy there with a F150 that tried topush them out, but his truck was just a spinnin. I pull up and tell them Ive got a chain I can pull you out. . .hook up yanked them like it was nothing

those guys were sweating bullets till I yanked them out. . .needless to say they were VERY impressed how easily my truck pull that truck out at idle[8D]

Cummins BABY!

Ha ha, yeah, the best ones are where there's an SUV trying to do the job and end up getting stuck (if it's muddy)... Kids oughta learn, you can't do a Cummin's job with something else.

HAHA I know,, I've seen what a broken flying chain can do to a tailgate. I saw a super duty tailgate get demolished several yrs ago by a flyin chain. These two fools at work tied their company trucks back to back,,,,, tow identical trucks,,, how goofy can u be,,,, anyways, the chain popped and tore up the tailgate and if not for the headache rack,,, the rear glass would have been gone too.

I was pulling stumps at a friends house a few weekends back and I snapped a 36K lb strap. This wasn't an old, beat up, sun damaged strap......I JUST BOUGHT THE DAMN THING!

I was yanking on a Memosis tree stump and the truck just lurched forward. I go around back and here is my brand new, $130 strap, that was jsut balled up under my bumper, between the receiver. I took me a good 10 minutes to fish that bastard out of there.

That's why I like straps WITH NO HOOKS. If they break, the damage is minimal.

I'll never orget that tarp idea. Seems like it would work perfectly, and it's so simple to do.

Putting any heavy cloth, like a wool blanket, a wet towel, whatever helps with cables and chains. The problem with the strap wa that it was a straight re-coil. It shot straight to the clevis on teh back of the truck and jammed in between the bumper and the receiver.

For this, I honestly don't think anything overthe strap would have helped, as it was straight line and not a whip action.

Hell, with a 36K lb, 6" wide strap, I didn't think I'd have to worry about it.
