Default off road diesel

Will running off road diesel cause any problems in a 2006 5.9?

Idont think it will, but I wouldn't get caught with it. Its a different color than pump diesel, and can easily be identified. If ur caught running it on the hwy, you will get fined.

Unless it is tagged as a 'farm truck' don't some states say it is OK to use all the time if the truck is tagged that way?

Yea it's that way in california. You can run it as long as the truck isn't being driven on public roads. Still pretty easy to run though. They only check here about once a year at the fairgrounds durring the fair.

If it's a tagged farm truck, you can run offroad, but if you run OF diesel in a non tagged farm truck, it gets a bit nasty if they test you. The only difference is the color and the fact that it's not taxed.

Not that I've ran it before... when you're hauling 100 gallons of it for a farm tank, it gets highly tempting to top off your tank.

There is no tax on it here and illegal to run on the road. I was wondedring about the sulfur content hurting anything. If I understand right it has much more sulfur than the road use diesel.

From what I know, it's the same as others, just has a different color die in it. Green is what u get at the pump, Red I think is farm diesel, and there is a yellow also. The chances of u getting stopped and tested are slim to none,, at least around here it would be,,, buuuutt if u were caught, it could come with some steep fines.

Doesn't red and blue make purple? "Off Road diesel" is #1 diesel as opposed to the regular green #2 right? Is the only reason that "off road diesel" is illegal on public roads is because it is not taxed?
