Default SRT-10 as a Daily Driver

to those using the SRT-10 as a daily driver, is it stressful to drive this truck in stop and go traffic (highway rush hours)?
am still in a quandary whether to join you guys as an owner. still undecided whether to go all our or not as my need is for a daily driver vehicle. the 9MPG City and 15MPG highway is also making go another route. I am salivating though on the 500HP and Torque.

Please help!

To me it's not stressful at all and I love driving it every chance I get. Guess that explains the 2600 mile in 5 weeks. I will however be buying another beater truck come fall, and park the beast for the winter.

Well, needless to say I did not buy it for the gas mileage, but I have been getting 9 to 11 around town and 16 to 17 on the highway. I'm satisfied. I don't even bother recording the gas mileage anylonger. You can cut those numbers in half you want to. I guess I have reached an age where I don't have to prove how fast the truck is from every stop light.

You might want to check out this site also.

I know there are a number of owners there that use them as daily drivers.

Thank you Silverback.

Might actually join you as a Yellow Fever Member.

If you can afford the gas its not a problem.

I'm like Silverback and love to drive mine every chance I get. It kind of depends on how far you commute to work. Back in the mid 90s my commuter car broke down and I had no choice but to drive my Chevelle to work for a month on my 3 hour, stop and go, round trip commute. It cost me $500 just to go to work that month and gas was a whole lot less back then. On the other hand, the SRT-10 gets better mileage than my Chevelle did. I get similar mileage to Silverback which, I believe, is right there with what many of the Hemi truck owners are getting - if we can keep our foot out of the throttle. You also have to weigh in the grin factor. This is huge! Between the performance, the driving pleasure and the 500 watt stereo, your commute might cost a little more but you'll be smiling the whole way.

I use mine as a daily driver. I can't seem to drive it enough! Go for it! It's an experience. I have a silver one, but I think the yellow fever edition is awesome.

Drive mine every chance I get to [sm=gears.gif] Unless of course its RAINING with 30 MPH WINDS and blowing debries all over the place. Then it sits in the garage like it is right now... It actually gets about the same mpg that my Fury does so the cost is about the same, but the WOW factor is soooo much better in the beast. Even though the Fury is 67 convertible painted Viper Yellow. Get lots of good looks there too...

BTW, how many of you have had someone ask you "Does that thing have a HEMI?" Some people...

[sm=alcoholic.gif] I drove my wife to Costco and in the parking lot this lady said.."that's the biggest Hemi I've ever seen!" I couldn't say a thing to her, but to her husban who was following behind..."I said..tell her it's one step above a Hemi"[sm=headbang.gif]
