here it is. lightning SUPERCHARGED. gt SUPERCHARGED. f-150 harley edition SUPERCHARGED.
If Dodge were to use forced induction in their engines, there would be no contest.

Why don't you take your own advice? We're not talking about all of these concepts, we're talking about the lightning and SRT-10!

Who ever said anything about production? Besides, I'm arguing on the lightning's side, but not just the lightning's. What I'm trying to do is show how Dodge's engines aren't all that good.

the vehicles that youre talking about, spare the Z06, dont exist! if you want to talk about aftermarket built cars, i can say that my mirada is better than the SRT10 too...because im quite a bit faster than it is in the QM, and i also dont need a power adder...mid 12s in a 4000lb car, with street tires and 87 octane....

There are blown stratus coupes that are in the high 11s...but they arent production either...the SVS Ram runs low 10s...so if youre going to compare aftermarket vehicles, youre only digging yourself a deeper hole.

thats why i was sticking to production vehicles, because bringing aftermarket models into the discussion voids anything, because there is ALWAYS someone faster.

I say this because the SRT-10 has 120 horsepower more than the lightning, but yet it's only 3 tenths of a second faster in 0-60 and only half a second faster in the quarter mile. For 120 more horsepower and 50 more lb. ft. of torque, I was expecting a lot more.
The SRT-10 is bigger and heavier. A much more massive truck, compared to the measley (size wise) Lightning.

BLee85 - When modded, the Viper V-10 will get MUCH more power than the Lightning. No question. How do you think Hennessy gets their Vipers over 1,200 HP?

I thought the L and SRT10 are about the same as far as weight goes....

I didn't say the V-10 COULDN'T be modified, but the price you pay TO modify the Viper engine is quite a bit more than the 5.4L S/C engine of the L....

The srt-10 is only 300 pounds heavier than the lightning, and has a lot to do with the engine, the viper engine is alluminum. Also as far as mods go, if you put a full exhaust or an intake on an engine you get much, much more power if it is blown rather than naturally aspirated. And taht guy is right, to modify an SRT-10 you need a lot of money.

do you realize that in this post above me ....you basically said that aluminum weighs alot???? lol

the lightning engine block is iron.....if anything.....the lightining block is heavier than even the aluminum v-10....if not the same weight.

try...the bed of the lightining is shorter and narrower as is the front of the vechile and im sure those 22" wheels on the srt-10 dont help weight and rotational mass forces very much either.

What I'm trying to say is that even though the SRT-10 seems like a big ***, heavy *** truck, It's kind of light because of its aluminum engine. Did you guys ever see the article on the 2004 lightning concept trucktrend.com?

Dodge Ram SRT-10: 5,100 lbs, 305/40R22, 8.3L V10, 20/OHV, 500 hp, 525 lbs-ft trq

Dodge Ram SRT-10 QC: 5,450 lbs, 305/40R22, 8.3L V10, 20/OHV, 500 hp, 525 lbs-ft trq

Ford F-150 SVT Lightning: 4,670 lbs, 295/45R18, 5.4L V8, 16/SOHC, 380 hp, 450 lbs-ft trq

By my calculations, the SRT-10 RC is 430 lbs heavier than the Lighting. And the SRT-10 QC is 780 lbs heavier. Add in that the SRT-10's rims are 4 inches bigger and 305's (lightning - 295).
