Hi,
I have a 1979 Dodge B200 fitted with a 318, am looking to check the timing but a previous owner has painted over the emissions label under the hood. Can anyone tell me what the timing should be BTDC or ATDC, also do I check it with the vacuum advance pipe on or off.
Thanks
Mark

You're screwed![sm=noooo.gif]The repair manual says to refer to the underhood sticker.
Traditionally the 318 ran anywhere from 2.5 BTDC to TDC at full warm up, 750 RPMs, distributor vacuum hose removed and plugged.
Try working within this range and adjust as necessary to avoid pinging.
