Default Lower Hinge Pin

The lower hinge pin on the drivers door of my '89 B250 has worn out. Is this a common problem on these vans?

It can be a problem on any 18 year old vehicle.

Just think of how many times that door has opened and shut since 1989. My 72 van has saggy doors.

Hey DVM, good to see you over here too.

Anyways, in the Ram Van forums around the web lately, people are all talking about the pins being worn out.

The hardest part is either getting new pins or getting the old ones out.

Getting the pins shouldn't be to bad. If they are the same as the ones in an '87 b150.

Help section at local auto parts store part number 38386 door hinge pin and bushing kit. They might have to order it for you. Comes with pins for top and bottom and four brass bushings.

You may however have to replace the whole hinge depending on how long its been bad. The holes in my lower hinge were egged out a little bit and the bushing moves around slightly but it opens and closes 100% better.
