odometer not working

i have a 91 250 van, 3.9 engine, slight conversion. the speedometer works fine but the odometer and trip meter do not. what's wrong? is the instrument cluster as i have been led to believe?

The problem maybe with the odometer,You may need to remove the cluster and have it repaired. Or replace.

Your odometer problem is a stripped plastic gear inside the cluster. Many people have replaced it and got their odometers working again.
