Default Engine vibrating while at idle

Hi!

I just got a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Conversion van and did the below:

1. New spark plugs and cables
2. New Distributor cap, rotor
3. Cleaned the PCV and IAC
4. Replaced all fluids (Brake, transmission ATF 4+, differential 75w90, powersteering, antifreeze, engine oil 10w30)
5. New air filter

However, when the engine is at idle, i can feel that the engine is "vibrating" when i am sitting in the van. The vibration may get worse when it has been driven for a while. The engine mounts have been checked and it seems ok.

Any suggestion to reduce or remove the vibration? Thanks for the help in advance!

I changed plugs and wires once and found a vibration right after.

Turns out one of the sparkplug boots was not fully on the plug.

Did it vibrate at idle before you changed all of those parts, or only after you changed them?

In that case you'll need to do a compression test on all cylinders.

yeah sounds like a miss - look at your plug wires again - 318 is famous for burning the driver side plug wires up.. make sure they are secure and not on the ex mani

For one, jump on over to Geno's Garage for Dodge TSB.

See this one for routing the ignition wires to prevent misses and poor idle.

My 2001 had this issue too. I had followed the TSB and it worked even though it's for the 1994-1999 vans.

I can only suppose that Dodge corrected the issue of the wires at the factory, but once the vehicles were in the filed and the wires were ran every which way, the problem would resurface for 2000-2003 as well.
