Differential Oil Capacity
Only someone like yourself would make that assumption......no one is from California, this is old Mexico...........everyone knows that!
Oh and in the upper right hand corner of your posts the "Location: California" is what, just a fashion statement?
@Landyacht318 - Just performing normal maintenance, no noise issue to overcome on my '97. Figured it would be best to use the Mobil1 synthetic oil even though the diff is standard (non-LSD) unit.
On my '93 I waited until I heard noise and by then it was too late to salvage the ring, pinion, pinion bearing & outer axle bearing surfaces.
Appears the gray silicone was factory, so diff oil was probably never changed unless it was done by a shop that used a vacuum tube to draw old gear oil out thru the access hole in the cover.
Seems quieter now with the Mobil1 in there but it's probably just my imagination.
@Alloro - I hope it's not the double-barrel purple microdots messing with me.

Brother, you got me all wrong. I'm a satellite dish installer and tree is a "four-letter word" in my business. This year on Earth Day I cut five trees down -- whatever it takes to get a line of sight for my signal.
And I'm so conservative it would probably scare you.
