Fan motor only works on high?
This is seems to be an issue with Jeeps of similar years. A couple things seem to happen. Your resistor goes out, when this happens your fan only works on high. Your fan switch goes out, this happens when certain fan setting won't work but other will, or everything goes out and this is often the mode switch.
What seem to cause it as the fan ages it draws more amps and starts melting switches and wires. Relays and fuses don't catch it.
I just got down replacing a wiring harness, a couple switches and the resistor in my jeep, the set up seems to be about the same in the dodges.
I also have a dodge ram van and want to change out the blower before I have problems.
In the jeep the fan is easy to get to, can anybody tell me how to get to it in the ram van?

From under the hood, and it's rather easy.
Remove a few screws, pull out the drain tube, unplug the connector, and out she comes.

I briefly looked in there the other day and did not see the fan. Does anything have to come off to get to it? I am assuming you get it from the top.

It's mounted into the side of that big black box on the passenger side of the underhood area. It comes out from the top.
