Default New Canadian 1988 Ram Van

Hi guys this site is where Im gonna spend my day! Don't be flattered ya'll its bcuz my coolant is leaking everywhere so Im stuck here with you guys! Its not coming from the radiator or any visible hoses. It seems to be coming from an upper part away from the engine and drips on the oil dip stick...so Im assuming from the heater?

Any help would be so highly appreciated!

Thank you

Its a Dodge Ram 350 with the 360 engine.

Welcome to the site. I would look at the heater core and I will move this thread to the RAm van section,

Check the bottom of the heater hoses where they attach to the heater core, look for pinhole leaks.

Default Thank you so much

I just realized people replied. Ok thank you Alloro I want to just replace those hoses if that is the likely culprit. It must be the heater core. It also doesnt occur as soon if i turn the heat all the way off but it still does hiss out after it gets hot even with the heat off just not so quickly. I got a copy of Haynes today...

Thank you

I hope one day Il be the one with all the answers!

There is a heater flow valve that closes the flow to the heater core when you turn the dash **** all the way to cool. With the flow turned off through the hose and the core it would make sense that the leak takes longer to occur if that's where the leak is. I guess you've confirmed the location.

OR, you can strive to be like some and just think you know all the answers.

Default leak fixed

Solved!! It was the short hose that goes to this A/C valve that shuts off hot water flow to the core when the A/C is on. It was touching the oil filter dipstick tube. It had been rubbing away for all these years and made quite a big hole! It was easy to figure out i just had to start the car cold and see where leak was coming from. If you try to figure out where water is coming from while you are already overheating its like a steam bath n its hard. $1.31 to fix (one piece of 1/2 inch hose and a piece of 5/16 scrap hose). Is this touching of hoses to metal tubes just a flaw in the design of the van?

Check any hoses that are touching anything thing else!
