I'm parting out the 1996 drive train out of my 3.9 liter van and have a potential buyer interested in using it in a 1999 with the 3.9. Anyone know if this would be a simple swap, or are there modifications that need to be made? Thanks for any help. John.

 

Tranny will have to be checked to see if its electrical connections will work. The 96 van uses the PCM to control the tranny and engine.

The 99 may use (some do) a separate TCM to control the transmission. It the electrical plugs don't match up then it won't work.
