Default 1999 dodge cago van not shifting right

hello i'm having problems with mt 1999 dodge cargo van it whistles when it shifts between2nd and 3rd then between3rd and 4th.some times it wont shift unless i back off the trottle.im not sure on the engin size but the vin is 2B7KB31Y2XK535025 i kno u can find engine size from that but i'm not sure how.i do not kno where2begin weather its a tranny issue or clutch problem or possibly a senser issue.any help to get me started would totaly b appreciated.thanks mike

When did you last do transmission maintenance and all the info should be on the under side of the hood.

what kind of tranny maintence u talking not sure if i change the tranny filter if that will take care of problem.

tranny fluid is not dirty or burnt

manual trans? you stated clutch? if so throw out bearring is what it sounds like to me.

no its an automatic 4 speed i said clutch because not sure why it whistles when it does shift

re-read it sounds like an auto. Sorry, Same thing was going on with my 2000 ram took it in had it flushed next day going down the road it acted like it went into nuetral, 2200.00 lated I was putting in a new one. Good luck..

tranny seems to be strong but its the shifting thats the issue

I'd check for vacuum leaks on the engine. Not only do they whistle, but they can cause shift delays.
