Default Cigarette lighter & speaker

How do you replace or chase a trouble with the cigarette lighter? The fuse is good. Anybody know where I can get a speaker for the left front door? Thanks

Check for power on the back of the lighter socket, if power there then the socket is bad.

Your doors take 6x9 speakers. Find a set you like from your favorite auto sound store and install them in the doors. I personally like 3 way speakers best for the best all around sound with good bass sound as well.

Does the lighter unscrew to get at the back? What about the different connector on the new speaker? Thanks

Yes the lighter socket will unscrew from the back side.

On the speakers I have always cut the OEM connector and installed the female blade connectors on the wires and connected them back to the speakers. Just make sure to notice which one is positive and negative, or you may have some very weird sounding speakers.

So I"m guessing I just remove the dog house and I will be able to reach up and unscrew the lighter? Thanks for the information on the speaker replacement.

Not sure on that since yours is an 03 but I believe you will need to pull the dash trim to get to it.

Thanks for the help mobile auto repair. Ended up that my lighter was broken and the cord I had for charging my cellphone was also broken. The socket itself was fine.

Good to hear the power-outlets are working fine. Those are actually easy to get at if you just pop-off the trim bezel around the instrument cluster, radio, HVAC controls and the power-outlets.

As for speakers, the ones atop in the dash area at the windshield are very small and do not last long with poor quality. These are on the same wire routing as the door speakers.

Our OEM radios are mainly AM/FM/cassette. Model: P04858556 or P5608933AB

The upgrade OEM radio is AM/FM/CD/Cassette. Model: P04704383AF or P04704383AH

Both radios are true plug-n-play without any additional mods.

That's funny. I didn't even know there were speakers on the top!! My only working speaker is in the right door. I'll have to check out your advice for upgrading.
