PCM coolant temp sensor

Default Temp Sensor.

Thank you for replying My temp gauge quit and I seem to have a hesitation when I take off. Replace water pump and alternator this week. Check engine light came on and parts store told me it was the Temp Sensor. Sorry not much of a mechanic.

Then you you might want to check that the IAT temp sensor connector behind the alternator and on the Intake is firmly plugged in. The PCM coolant temp sensor is behind/below the AC compressor. IF you have small enough hands you might be able to remove/replace with out moving the AC compressor but most likely you will need to pull the 4 bolts that hold it on after removing the belt and slide it forward. Use a deep well socket for either one of the sensors. You do need to verify WHICH temp sensor they are talking about.

Then single wire behind the alternator on the intake manifold is for the coolant gage on the dash. The PCM uses a 2 wire sensor closer to the AC compressor. Does that one have 2 wires or is a wire broke from it? Also the intake air temp sensor has 2 wires going to it.

If you can take and post a pic of what you are seeing that may very well help us to find where that one wire goes.

The wires going to these sensors are not the strongest. So be careful not to pull via the wires.
