2000 Ram Van Electric Fan Conversion
Here is another pic of the fan. It has been installed for about a week and I'm really pleased with how the van accelerates now. The A/C is working noticably better too.

Question, noticed you didn't close off the open frame area to the fan as a shroud. This would enhance the cooling while sitting idle at lights or in a parking lot with the AC on during the hot summer. AND if the van needed more ram air while moving, add a few flapper doors in the shroud that open as the van moves. Many of the Ford's and Jeep's are like this now.
Other than the acceleration and better AC, you should see an increase in MPG as your foot tames to the pedal now.
Indeed the work sounds rewarding. Yes, on the 1998-2003 Ram Vans, the wheel wells are more opened to allow for airflow.
Also, if your van has the 5.2L/318cid Magnum engine, get a Goodyear Gatorback belt, with AC, the p/n is 4071005 pack number is 7PK2555. This would really help with the mpg as it's less friction and stress with the engine.

That looks really good. I want the exact same setup on my van. I too live in south texas (san antonio) and anything to help with the AC and MPG would be worth it. Please update us on any MPG increase? If so id do the same setup in a heartbeat cause its over 90 dollars at the pump so it probably wouldnt take long to pay for itself if it got a few extra mpg. I am going to put in a new T-stat and O2 sensors next cause im only getting 13-14 mpg on my beast.
