1990 B250 Dodge Ram Van Rear Bed
I had a 1993 B250 Dodge Ram Van Conversion that I really loved. I sold it to buy a Cummins TD Truck so I could pull a large 5th Wheel.
Now years later I found a 1990 B250 Conversion that is very similar. The vehicle is in very good condition and I have the records, very low mileage.
This has an electric bed in the rear to fold the back seat down just like my 93 did. I never really used the rear bed in my 93 so I can't remember if the entire bed is supposed to lay down flat. I had the 93 down a couple of times but that was all.
The 90 electric rear bed works well and the rear seat back and bench fold down perfectly flat. however the section that is the last of the three to make up the bed doesn't fold flat. It is about 1 to 2 inch from folding flat. I have pushed down at the seam hard, but no luck. Is the last section of the bed which faces the rear door supposed to fold down perfectly flat?
Does anyone know if there is an adjustment for the rear bed alignment.
Thanks

Since the rest of the bed/seat folds flat to this point then most likely that portion is there to help keep you or items from rolling off of the bed if the rear doors are opened.

Anyone else have the ram van electric rear bed.
It might be so, seems strange. I looked under the bed and oiled and looked at the operation, everything seems to be working fine.
The best thing would be if someone from the forum had the electric seat bed and would put theirs down and tell me if all 3 sections are flat.

Mine had a 3 section bed and would fold flat, but different conversion companies used different jackknife beds so that means little.
Regardless, the bed was a torture device and it was a happy day when I hacked it to pieces with a sawzall and threw it into the recycling bin.
I saved the actuator motor though. It now serves to open and close the window behind my fridge

I have seen while searching the web so many of this post all over the web. You seem really proud that you hacked up this bed in your van. Quite frankly, I just drove my van all the way to Florida and back from PA.
I slept on the rear bed every night and found it quite comfortable. I am 67 years old so that is saying a lot.
My package was a Mark III conversion and our beds probably were made by a different manufacturer.
In any case you did answer the question that yours folded flat. On the other hand another answered his doesn't fold flat. I noticed all my electric hinges are extended fully so mine was not meant to fold perfectly flat. But, in either case, the flat portion is more than wide enough to sleep on comfortably. I was just curious and got all the answers I needed.
