Re-built tranny or replace leaking seals.

Could have been cause driving home the roof antenae came rolling down the windsheild. Something knocked it out, lucky the skylight window didn't crack. But it's all good. The MH weighs near 8000lbs so I'm thinking of having it rebuilt with the latest upgrades there are available rather than an off the shelf reman. Who knows what they re-use in them. Heard not so good things lately on Jasper also. Ever hear of a VIPER level 2, good for heavy duty towing, high horsepower etc. use?

Jasper guarantees all upgrades are current in their reman tranny product... I heard nothing but good before buying from a number of sources... I considered having mine rebuilt for a bit cheaper, but how can anyone know any tranny well without having done dozens of them already? The longer warranty works for me as I travel extensively and service, if needed on the road is available from any Jasper dealer.
I use my '01 to tow a 5000# TT 75% of the time... I just weighed my van at 7800# travel weight... she pulls and runs strong so far after about 40K miles with the rebuilt...
surely some Jasper dealer can service your van... just have to find one to accommodate your increased height...
your shop sounds to me like a jerk for not reporting to you they damaged your van... surely they knew it happened which is why they backed out of the deal...

I can't even unbolt the running boards. They're molded into fiberglass storage compartments and holding tank supports on both sides and protrude below the frame. A semi-truck repair place is going to get back to me on tackling the job. Like you said most mechanics don't want to bother crawling under there and I really can't blame them. Its a PITA.
