Default No Blinkers on my 98 Ram Van

I have a 98 1500 Ram Van. After it was in a shop to have the tranny replaced, the blinkers and hazards don't work. I think that is just a coincidence. Didn't see a flasher relay under the dash. Is it plugged into the fuse box or is it somewhere else?

It's in the dash end panel fuse box. It looks like a big square relay but except that it's blue if it's still the OEM one, not black.

Thanks Alloro. Is there any way to bench test it or do I just have to buy a new one and hope for the best?

I would inspect the light sockets... rusty sockets can play havoc with the lighting circuit

You could setup the electrical to bench test it, but it's not really worth the time to go through all of that trouble to save 20 bucks.

Found one at NAPA for $17 and it will be on tomorrow morning. The strange thing, if I heard him right, is he mentioned it is a relay for blinkers, flasher and something about the water pump??? Almost positive that is what he said I'll ask them when I pick it up. Would that make any sense?

Don't know about the water pump, but the flasher unit/relay is a combination unit that handles both the turn signal and the 4-way hazard flasher circuits.

Well I replaced the relay and still no blinkers or flashers. The fuse is fine (the one marked combo flasher). Not real sure where to check next. I can;t see it being a bulb ground as none are working.

Maybe they broke the turn signal switch.

Replacing a tranny? I guess anything's possible. I just hate to keep buying stuff to throw at it.
