Rear drum brakes red hot after replacing shoes

@jkeaton OK I've taken this part off. I have not cut it open yet, but air does go through both ways. Still, it could have a problem inside and as long as I have it off I will replace it.
Naturally nobody has it in stock, so tomorrow or Monday will tell the tale.

An update: I think it may be fixed! The hose finally came in at the parts store, I put it on, and have test driven it several times.
So far no burning heat on that side now. Both sides are equally hot, but what I would call normal hot. Not so hot you'd burn yourself. Not as hot as it was before.
So I believe I"m good to go.
