I'm trying to replace the output speed sensor and I'm not able to locate it where all of the diagrams say it should be. It's a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Van with 3.9L and everything I can find about it says it should be on the driver's side on the tail of the transmission but I don't see it. Is it possible that on this version of the transmission it utilizes info from the sensor on the rear differential for this purpose?

I'm not certain, but it's not the one I'm looking for. It should be located on the shaft. This is the part

Only the 4-speed tranny has the output sensor on the shaft.

Are you sure? As far as I knew they didn't install the 4-speeds in 1500 vans with the V6 engines. The V6s came with 3-speed and the V8s came with 3-speed with O/D (4-speed).

The 32RH feels like it has 4 shifts...the last one you are feeling is the torque converter locking up - it is not a shift.

My 3.9 has a 3 speed
