1986 B350 - Cruise + Speedo Problem. Related?
Hi all. Got a 1986 B350 Class B. Cruise does not work. I changed out servo and it works but not right. Activate cruise at 70 and it immediately bleeds off to about 50. Power for cruise works correctly. Replaced hoses to rule out vacuum leaks (get 10 inches now). Any ideas?
Is the pinion and cruise connected in some way? No
R there no 1986 cruise experts out there?
Edits:
1. Vacuum test = 15 inches.
2. Got to thinking (uhoh). Maybe the speedo pinion at the trans? It has a 32 tooth pinion. I have a 38 tooth pinion. Does the internal gear have to be changed to accommodate the 38 gear pinion? I don't believe it does but never hurts to ask.
3. Speedo pinion corrected w/33 tooth.

Solved! - Disconnected wire.
Talk about a disconnect! Yikes. Evidently my initial troubleshooting was mistaken. The single wire on the speed control servo goes to the 'actuator' on the front of the carb. I stole a diagram and added just the carb part. On the bright side, I know all there is know (almost) about the speed control on a 1986 Dodge B350 Van Class B.
