The inner linings of the oil fill neck could be coming off like it did too me,3 clogged oil filters Lucas oil didn't help found that nano oil stabliser did the job.P.S it will turn your oil a gray color it's weird but it works.

Hi all,
I am having low oil pressure when the van is HOT and I come off the Interstates. I have the same gauge as the one in the previous photo and when I'm cruising down the highway I'm just below middle but as I said when I come down from highway speed to a stop sign the low oil pressure light flickers and the gauge drops quite a bit. I had the oil changed twice in the last two days. The first place put in 5w30 but I normally use 10w30 so I had it dumped and put in 10w30 today. The 10w30 is better and I can get the pressure to pop back up if I kick the van in to Neutral when I'm stopped at a light. It's really hot, I'm in Tennessee somewhere...been cruising I-81 South and the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah for the last few days.
Please let me know if I'm doomed to blow an engine as I've been wondering if I am going to end up having to fly home.
Cheers, Steve

Sounds like just a bad oil pressure sending unit. That is typical behavior for a bad one. Not an unusual problem either.

Perfect, I'll hope for that and hunt down a replacement.

I put a replacement sensor in last weekend but it's not nearly hot enough to replicate the problem I was having. The old sensor was seeping oil a touch and slowly making a mess of the bell housing. I guess I'll know if I have a problem next summer.
