swapping 98 dakota 318 into 97 ram van

friend of mines 97 ram 318 vans motor blew. is it a clean swap to pull a 98 dakota 318, minus the basic items(motor mounts, hoses, etc). in other words, are the blocks the same? thank you in advance!

Blocks are the same, likely all the sensors are as well. Exhaust manifolds *might* be different, but, not sure on that.
