Default How do strut rod bushings work?

When turning wheels hard right, on 2002 Ram 1500 Van is the right front strut rod bushing suppose to compress so much that the one on the back side has visible clearance from touching the bracket mount?

My first time with this type of bushings. I've owned mostly foreign and GM vehicles. This is the first time I've seen this type of suspension.

Are the bushings suppose to remain tightly clamped on both sides of the bracket, or is the back bushing suppose to be allowed to move back away from the bracket when turning hard right (on RF)?
