You are going to want a service manual for that. (factory, not haynes, or chiltons.)

Welcome to DF!

Agreed. Aside from buying a hard copy of the service manual, are there any legit online resources? At least for the wiring diagram? I've clicked around, but mostly found dead links. Thanks.

Try these guys for wiring diagrams. Gotta do some hoop jumping to get access, but, should only need to do that once.

Maybe the plug was to help prevent the electrical drain?

Thanks. That site only goes back to '86... any clue if there's a big difference between '84 and '86?

Well, seeing TSBs for '84 now, but not wiring diagrams. Those start in '86.

5 is probably an old wire from the alternator. 4 is probably related to it.
6 is probably a battery isolator. Do you have mounts for a 2nd battery somewhere?

Thanks. There are no other mounts that I can see. There are lots of wires hanging in the coach and the original generator is still there (not sure if it's operational). Eventually I'll install solar and a battery bank.
