1994 Dodge B250 Overdrive / Cruise Control & stall issues.
Hi Fellow Dodge owners,
I driving my 1994 Dodge B250 5.2L V8 abroad right now and can’t seem to find the source of the following issues. It seems to be related to each other. Please help!
PROBLEMS:
1. When in overdrive, gear shifts from 3rd to 4th rapidly. Happens when driving over 60mph. The overdrive switch seems to work, light goes on when pressing “overdrive off”. Transmission from 1 - 3 works perfect in overdrive off” mode.
2. At the same time above problem appeared, cruise control stopped working.
3. When parked on a hill, engine erratically will not start in P. I sometimes need to shift to Neutral to start engine.
4. Perhaps unrelated to above, however when driving in D in high altitudes (above 13000 feet) engine stalls. I have to wait 10
Min to restart engine. I can drive perfectly manually in reverse, 1 & 2 in high altitude without stalking. No problems below 13000 feet.
Van is well maintained. All fluids changed regularly together with air and gas filter. Have also replaced spark plugs, gas pump & injection cables. We’ve also changed the position / degrees of the distributor, however problem persists.
Any advice on what the issue could be would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

You need to reset fuel sync, you screwed it up when you turned the distributor. Doing so does not change ignition timing at all, it changes injector timing. The system isn't very tolerant of fuel sync being off......
How much of an RPM change are you seeing for problem 1?
Does the speedometer work fine when cruise will not?
Check/adjust shift linkage.
No idea on number 4. Need to find out what's missing when it won't start, fuel, or spark.
